Our client is a rapidly expanding manufacturing company based in the Broadstairs area. With nearly 40 years of experience in their field they have continued to expand and grow, shipping their products all over the UK and worldwide.

A rare opportunity has arisen within the Accounts team for a Purchase Ledger to assist with increased volume within the department.  Reporting to the Management Accountant the successful candidate will be fully capable of handling the duties below;

  • Posting all purchase invoices and credits
  • Raising purchase payments via both computerised and manual cheques
  • Raising foreign payments via AMEX and BIP
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Dealing with account queries
  • Credit control
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Collating and checking banking summaries
  • Reviewing petty cash claims
  • Entering collection and banking data in to Excel for automatic journal import in to the Exchequer accounting system.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the import container schedule and working with the Management Accountant to understand the impact on cashflow
  • Reviewing royalty invoices with the Sales Director
  • Raising sales invoices and credits
  • Posting and allocating sales receipts
  • Reviewing company credit card statements
  • Reviewing machine invoices and credits
  • Month end procedures, including daybook postings & updating exchange rates

The ideal candidate will;

  • Have worked in a busy accounts department within a Purchase Ledger role
  • Have three years of experience in a similar role
  • Be a competent user of Exchequer & Excel
  • Be able to show experience of handling large volumes of work
  • Show a real talent for working under pressure
