Payroll Manager

Award winning independent business in Maidstone is looking for a Temporary Payroll Manager to cover the smooth running of a weekly and monthly payroll.  This is a maternity cover contract for 15 months.

Working with Sage 50 Payroll, the Payroll Manager will be solely responsible for processing a high-volume payroll of 150 weekly PAYE, 35 Monthly PAYE and 300 subcontractors who are paid through a third party.

The company are looking for a confident individual who is happy to come into the business and maintain the efficient payroll function.

Tasks and Responsibilities include;

  • Smooth running of the Payroll from start to finish
  • Creating and checking timesheets
  • Processing Leavers and Starters
  • Processing and paying pensions provider (Standard life)
  • Costings for Accounts
  • Costing for Managers
  • Payroll Journals
  • Month End Payroll costings (with the Financial Controller)
  • Processing of Statutory forms including Payslips, P46, P45 & P60’s
  • Preparation and submission of P11D
  • Preparing BACS payments
  • Liaising with HMRC and other relevant 3rd parties
  • Managing Real Time Information (RTI) Submissions
  • Answering queries from employees / operatives regarding pay
  • Tax Year End
  • Filing
  • Other office duties

Candidates must be confident with running payroll in a high volume/busy environment (ideally with Sage 50), as well as relevant experience in processing P11DS, Tax Year End and using VLOOKUP’s. In addition, candidates should enjoy working in a dynamic setting, and possess a 'can do' attitude.  As a Payroll expert, it is also expected that you will keep up to date with related legislation to be able to advise the business accordingly.
