Management Accountant - Part Time

New and Exclusive!  Highly successful, entrepreneurial business in Kings Hill are looking for a Management Accountant to join their thriving team.  Owing to substantial growth, the exciting time has come to bring the Accounts completely in house.  The Management Accountant will be instrumental in driving change, implementing more robust controls and procedures, and provide financial advice to the Directors from both a commercial and statutory perspective.  Given the nature of the business, there is also a strong desire for the Management Accountant to provide regular profitability/commercial analysis, thus enabling sound commercial decision making.

Key tasks of the Management Accountant include;

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for review by directors 
  • Calculation of month end accruals and prepayments
  • Calculation of depreciation charges and maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Calculation and posting of monthly journals
  • Reconciliation / review of control accounts
  • Investigation of actual / budget variances & production of commentary
  • Flash sales reporting
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Rollover of monthly files
  • Process payroll and overheads
  • Manage year-end procedures
  • Preparation of draft statutory accounts
  • Prepare various annual declarations and processes eg VAT, insurance etc
  • Assistance with preparation of the annual budget
  • Oversee purchase and sales ledger
  • Banking – ensure payments are processed and working capital cashflow updated daily, reconcile bank account daily and investigate any outstanding items. Manage relationship with bank manager
  • Manage general company facilities such as basic HR, office management including office rent, expenses, contracts, company renewal docs eg insurance etc
  • Liaise with external auditors
  • Undertake ad hoc team duties when cover required
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and carry out internal audit reviews / investigations as required of Directors

In order to apply candidates should demonstrate the following;

  • Formally qualified with a recognised Accountancy qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Reliable and flexible attitude and happy to take on ad hoc work required in the team
  • Able to present and deal with the facts evidencing cause and effect
  • Self-motivated, pro-active, able to interact confidently at all levels
  • Analytical
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • A good listener, problem solver and confident decision maker
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritise to meet deadlines
  • Strong team player with a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems
  • Experience of working in a busy environment and able to deal with seasonal fluctuations
  • Good excel skills including data manipulation
  • Commercial awareness
