Junior Finance Assistant

Ref: 92| Posted: 24th May 2019

Working within a large charity organisation in Canterbury, an entry level role within the finance team has opened up. As a Junior Finance Assistant, this will probably be your first serious job, as you start on a career within the accountancy and finance sector. Full training will be given, however you'll need to demonstrate that you have the personality and dedication to succeed in a high pressure office environment.

Your daily tasks will involve;

  • Input transactions on the sales ledger and purchase ledger ensuring codes provided are correct
  • Filing and general office admin
  • Acting as the first point of contact for the team opening and dealing with post, answering low level queries and receiving email queries
  • Entering cheques received on a spreadsheet and bank them weekly
  • Supporting the Assistant Accountants with their administration
  • Chasing of outstanding monies via standard email/letters
  • Taking notes as requested at committee meetings

The successful candidate will;

  • Be GCSE educated or higher
  • Have undertaken a work experience placement, or training course relevant to accountancy
  • Have good knowledge of Microsoft software, especially Excel
  • Be a methodical, fast paced worker with an outstanding level of attention to detail
  • Show initiative, and a positive attitude

This really is the perfect opportunity for a school lever looking for their first serious job. Our client is looking for someone they can train, and someone who will stay within the company - so there's plenty of room for promotion and growth. A very hard to find 'foot in the door' chance for the right person. Interested? Call Iain on 01732 424095 or email iain.simpson@baywellsearch.com immediately to get your application submitted!
