Group Finance Manager

Owing to an internal move, a Group Finance Manager is required for this sizeable global business.  Not only will the successful Group Finance Manager will co-ordinate the European finance teams to deliver the European reporting, they will assist European operations with more commercial activities, in particular, supporting procurement, sales and distribution. 

The Group Finance Manager will also provide financial evaluation of strategic projects, help direct investment decisions, analyse profitability and costs, highlighting risk/opportunity.

Detailed duties of the Group Finance Manager include;

  • Co-ordinate annual budget and 5 year strategy information with in-country financial managers
  • Consolidate into regional budget for the annual financial, capital budget, cash flow budgets and 5 year plans
  • Preparation/review of detailed KPI reports, with commentary, on a monthly and quarterly basis on a company and a consolidated basis for management team and Board of Directors
  • Monthly financial accounts for the European group, including Consolidated Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow and Capital Expenditure reports and compares with budgets inline with IFRS
  • Proper review of all year-end annual financial statements for presentation to the audit committee, various boards and shareholders
  • Ensure that statutory obligations are maintained
  • Monitor compliance to group accounting policies
  • Consolidation of year end reporting packs to present to the group finance for consolidation
  • Coach and mentor Finance Team
  • Compile and control monthly capital expenditure against budgets for the Group and ensure compliance with various delegation frameworks
  • Report on weekly Sales and Cashflow for the group
  • General profitability and cost analysis by product, customer and region
  • Provide strategic support to both local CEOs and CFOs
  • Assist local financial teams with developing correct and efficient financial structures
  • Financial evaluation of strategic projects ensuring efficient capital allocation
  • Preparation/Review of capital requests and projects to ensure accurate feasibility studies and project reports
  • Assist in rolling out activity based costing methods at all production operations and ensure that cost allocations are done correctly into these activities
  • Development and implementation of "Risk Management" policies and procedures, identifying key risks and implementation of controls in order to mitigate applicable risks

In order to apply, candidates for the Group Finance Manager role must demonstrate the following;

  • Formally qualified with recognised professional Accountancy Qualification of either ACA or ACCA
  • Experience of a group financial management role that has involved consolidating international entities for product based businesses
  • Secure understanding of activity based costing methods
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS
  • Confidence to lead and take ownership of the group reporting activities for the European division
