Progressive international group are looking for a Financial Controller that can support the activities of this growing, acquisitive manufacturing company.  Developing new technologies to satisfy the ever-increasing demand from their niche and growing market, this global business operates through over 50 entities.

The UK head office is based in Rochester, and reporting to the Head Office in France, the pivotal Financial Controller role will have responsibility for group reporting, business partnering, asset management including inventory valuation.  This is a great opportunity where the Financial Controller can enjoy business partnering and more commercial activities whilst maintaining responsibility for financial reporting.

Detailed duties include;

  • Lead the production of accounts for the UK divisions in line with group policies, procedures and controls on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Monthly review of Management Accounts with Managing Director
  • Group reporting for consolidation under IFRS
  • Co-ordinate budget and forecast process, engaging with stakeholders
  • Provide regular interpretation of financial information in conjunction with Managing Director and department managers highlighting risk, opportunity and remedial actions
  • Safeguarding of Assets including fixed assets, cash and inventory
  • Ensure effective procedures for asset management for physical inventory, petty cash, credit cards
  • Inventory valuation and standard Costing
  • Supporting Managing Director with Tenders from a costing perspective
  • Company secretarial responsibility for the UK entity
  • Maintain and improve controls, ensuring rules and regulations are met
  • Manage and mentor finance team, ensuring timely and accurate financial information is prepared
  • Develop process and procedural improvements and efficiencies within the Finance team

In order to apply, candidates must be able to demonstrate;

  • Formally qualified with a recognised Accounting qualification – ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Significant experience gained in a Group setting
  • Manufacturing industry experience, able to confidently value inventory
  • Technically competent, ensuring timely and accurate financial information is produced under UK GAAP/IFRS
  • Progressive attitude that is happy to challenge the status quo, whilst providing a best in class Finance service
  • Gravitas and presence to work with the Board/Leadership team
