Sizeable business on the outskirts of Canterbury are looking for an Accountants Assistant. 

The role will primarily have responsibility for maintaining the sales ledger for key customers and ensuring customers pay promptly in accordance with agreed terms. Additionally, the role will get involved in purchase ledger, and adhoc general accounting activities to support the Finance Director.

Duties Include;

  • Review all aged outstanding invoices within the debtors book for key accounts
  • Collecting payments
  • Processing sales invoices
  • Posting and allocating of transactions from the bank statements
  • Responding to statement requests
  • Processing International payments
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Input purchase invoices
  • Prepare payment runs
  • Dealing with invoice queries quickly and effectively
  • Assisting with Month-end reports process
  • Adhoc reporting and analysis
  • Supporting month end tasks

You will need to be a strong communicator, possess excellent problem solving skills, enjoy working in a dynamic environment, and be able to think on your feet when resolving queries.  Additionally, strong Excel skills required to be able to manipulate large volumes of data.

This is a lovely broad role that will additionally involve purchase ledger activities and provide adhoc to support the Finance Director.  There will be lots of challenges, and it’s a dynamic, growing business.
