Accounts Assistant

Independent business on the outskirts of Orpington are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their growing team.  Working with main contractors and housing associations, this construction related business has achieved steady growth that has been underpinned by the excellent service delivery of the contracts.  It’s a great business, driven by a very engaging Director.

This is a new role, in recognition of needing to further strengthen the Accounts team.  A role which will primarily focus on Sales Ledger activities, creating complex sales invoices, allocating cash, credit control.

Detailed duties include;

  • Generating Sales invoices from bespoke job costing system
  • Inputting and uploading all invoices onto Quickbooks
  • Dealing with Sales Ledger queries
  • Cash allocation
  • Chasing payment on outstanding invoices
  • Taking card payments over the telephone
  • Raising credit notes
  • Maintaining accurate records of outstanding invoices
  • Adhoc support to the Accounts Manager

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate;

  • Relevant Sales Ledger experience
  • Confidence in making telephone calls to collect unpaid invoices
  • Attention to detail, able to put together complex invoices with multiple components
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organisation
  • Intermediate level of Excel
